Why us - Testimonials

I’ve met this amazing woman who has totally transformed my life with her newly formed charity for women and men ...
who have had chemotherapy or suffered hair loss from cancer treatment. Her knowledge is extensive. She can help with wigs, scarves and any hair problems post and pre chemotherapy.  A wonderful compassionate lady with a warm caring nature. A true asset to anyone who has ever had hair loss.

When my new hair grew back after chemotherapy for breast cancer, it was wild and frizzy and driving me mad so I ended up wearing my wig to hide it. I was so frightened to visit a regular hairdresser as the experience of losing my hair was just horrendous for me. I didn’t have a clue who to turn to for help. Then my friend told me about the free Cancer Hair Care service at  my local hospital. My unruly curls were turned into a short style and so for the first time in over a year I didn’t have to wear a wig. I can honestly say that the expertise, caring and committed attitude helped me to feel like my cancer was behind me. Cancer Hair Care returned my dignity. Thank you

Marian Mason

Thank you, Your expertise, caring and committed attitude helped me to keep my style and dignity…
During the last 2 years, I have got to know Jasmin on a personal as well as professional level. I have been impressed not only by her expertise but also by her caring, committed attitude to cancer patients. I am so delighted that she has put all her knowledge and ideas into a web site so that anyone can feel secure in the knowledge that Jasmin will be there to offer support when it’s needed. She was there for me from the day I found out I would lose my hair.

A friend of mine from work was recently diagnosed with cancer of the lymph nodes….
The doctors said that with the right treatment, the chances of Nina recovering were very high, so she had a positive outlook right from the start. However, one of the things she was concerned about was the effects of chemotherapy, namely the fact that she was going to lose her very long hair.

I had met Jasmin through my boyfriend who has known her all his life, and once he told me about Jasmin’s expertise in cancer hair care and immediately I knew that she would be perfect to advise Nina. Not only does Jasmin know a great deal about the subject but she is also an extremely positive person; caring but with a professional attitude.

Nina told me she feels very lucky to have found Jasmin and have some expert advice. I can’t help thinking that there must be thousands of people all over the country who need this sort of information, but can’t find it. So when Jasmin told me about this web site I thought how brilliant – I can just imagine what a comfort it would be to so many people who need information on this very sensitive subject.

Thanks for being there for my friend and best of luck to all who read this site – Suzzie B

It’s the little bits of advice that make all the difference…
I had no idea that I may find it painful when my hair started to fall so having that explained in advance meant that when that happened not only was I prepared with a organic lotion you recommended but that it didn’t frighten me. Losing my hair was really tough but with your guidance and support I felt able to deal with it all.

Good luck Cancer Hair Care – not only is your advice necessary you deliver it with such passion and care - Sandra

My mousy, grey, blonde hair was back in abundance. I can only describe the way my hair looked as like a new born baby with wisps of hair going in all directions. I called Jasmin and she came round with wonderful natural colours to get my lovely chestnut  colour back. She also did some styling to make it look a bit better. From that point on it grew into a horrendous mop of tight curls. Where did they come from? Then I remembered a picture of me as a baby – a mop of blonde curls! I called Jasmin again and she helped to straighten the curls and, again, she gave it some style. One of the negatives about having breast cancer has been the emergence of lymphoedema in my right arm. One of the issues of that was I needed to have light hairdryers and other implements to ensure no great strain on the swollen arm. The best way I found to straighten the curls and do the styling was by use of a drier to get the hair almost dry and then to use a hot brush to do the rest. That worked for me and meant my arm wasn’t over-used.

Without Jasmin I’m not sure could have got through the hair issues. She quietly gave me information and support and 'held my hand' through the whole process.

As a man it’s easy to think that you can be forgotten so thank you for making the effort to understand that hair loss can be tough for guys as well…
Until you gave me advice it never occurred to me that I would lose me whiskers (beard). I had assumed that it was just the hair on the top of the head that goes. As you know I was worried about a family wedding I had and thanks to you we worked out that my particular treatment of chemo meant that hair loss wouldn’t occur until around the fourth week. That meant I could attend the wedding with my hair intact.

Then when it did go I took your advice of wearing trekking hats with added sun protection and stocking up on a range of hats so that I didn’t get fed up with the same old thing.

Men need to know what is going to happened so that they can be prepared and not fear it all. So thanks for taking care of the men as well – Pete

When you advised me about how to stop my wig slipping it meant that my confidence and dignity came back…
I am thrilled that you have started this web site because I spent hours looking on the net for helpful advice and really couldn’t find what I needed. Then when I met you, all the problems with my wig slipping and not sitting quite right were solved. I love your creativity and ideas to sew bits of hair onto my cap so it looks like I had hair underneath, and showing me how to wear scarves over my wig to look a bit funky.

Thanks so much and good luck with this precious project. As you know I even had the confidence to wear my wig and drive my convertible…read more from Teresa
