Thinning hair
In this section we will take you through hair thinning so that you can be prepared and have ideas on how to look after your hair, scalp and how you feel about it all. There are lots of helpful and creative ideas for making the most of thinning hair without giving up on your style.
Some people experience hair thinning as a side effect to cancer treatments such as chemotherapy and hormone therapies or radiology to the scalp. Hair is very sensitive to changes in our body so it is also fair to say that thinning hair can also occur as a result of being unwell.
Hair thinning means that your hair may look thinner then normal and have less volume. This means that some hair may fall out, but that you won’t experience complete hair loss. Hopefully you will be able to avoid full head covers such as wigs. But depending on how you feel about your thinning hair you may find that adapting your style or wearing a headscarf or other partial head covers helpful.
