The book “Mummys Lump” has a whole section about hair loss and was a real help. It’s free of charge from Breast Cancer Care.
Play – I borrowed these specialist dollies from Cancer Hair Care. They turn inside out – one end the dolly has hair and the other she is hair free, even her eyebrows are gone. By making head scarves out of little pieces of fabric with my daughter helped her to understand and not feel frightened of my hair loss. She loved coming to have this picture taken as she had a chance to play with the dolly again.
Our tip – You can contact us to borrow a dolly or why not pop to a charity shop and buy one, you can make scarves, wigs and hats to show changes in appearance.
