We URGENTLY need funds to help teenagers...
On 25th February 2012 - we will run a special ‘Gigs and Wigs’ workshop to help support over 370 teen and young adult patients. We urgently need funding so that we can offer specialist items such as funky wigs that help offer young cancer patients confidence.
Above you can see two of our stunning patients from last year. This 15 year old looks fab in a fake fringe that is attached to a hand- made skulls and roses head scarf to disguise hair loss. Her friend looks stunning beautifully bare and showing off her fab new fake eye lashes.

‘Hair Raising’ for Hertfordshire
The fabulous voluntary organisation ‘Hair Raising’ has been set up to fundraise for cancer charities. We are delighted that they have chosen Cancer Hair Care as their charity of the year 2012. Aside from the official events run by Caring Hair this dynamic group are hosting a number of other events:

Sun 22nd April at 2pm at Heathside, Church Lane, Colney Heath - Children’s sponsored walk & Teddy Bears picnic/afternoon tea.
Sat 26th May - 2pm; Heathside, Church Lane, Colney Heath - Table Top Sale (stalls available for hire), Swim and BBQ

Thanks to our caring committee, volunteers and your donations we are able to give out over 200 ‘outreach’ parcels in December. The specialist hats, scarves and item will be given out in hospitals, children’s units and sent to people’s homes. They offer a little Christmas sparkle to those who are hair free this Christmas. Each hair loss hat is beautiful presented in a hand- made bag and completed with a candle. If you are a Macmillan nurse or Breast Cancer Nurse Specialist who would like a pack to go to a patient who is too poorly to visit hospital please get in touch with the team.

30th September 2011. Patient and supporter Gemma Chapmen with Caring Hair -Cancer Hair Care, founder Jasmin Julia Gupta, Mayor Carol Latif and Jo Gates. The mayor cuts a ribbon of pink hair to declare the Cancer Hair Care services at Jo Gates salon officially open.
Thank You - £171 raised was raised on 3rd September by the Fairview Road Residents Association selling local produce for a donation.
