Indian head massage

Indian head massage is a hands-on treatment to the head, neck, face and shoulders. The idea is to relieve stress and tension and to help stimulate blood to remove toxins and relieve muscle tension. It is believed that blood flow to the scalp, which is increased during massage, can help to stimulate hair growth. The therapist will often massage using oils on the hair or scalp that help to keep the skin and hair moisturised and healthy, but this is normally optional.

You will remain fully clothed and seated on a chair during treatment, which normally lasts for around 30–40 minutes and on average can cost from £25.00 upwards. Any head wear, including wigs and head scarves, will need to be removed. If oils are used, we would advise you to gently remove them with either a make up wipe or towel before replacing your wig or head scarf. This is just to avoid oil stains/slipping and is entirely your choice. If you have any cuts, sores or scalp problems, or your hair is fragile or falling out then this treatment may not be suitable for you.

If suited to you, Indian head massage is a beautiful experience that brings an ancient healing practice into our modern world.

“With hair loss I really missed going to the hairdressers and having a good scalp rub, so Indian head massage was a lovely alternative. I had my first massage when my hair started to grow back as a little treat and helping hand for that new hair growth” Sandy, 59 from Bedfordshire
