Choosing a treatment
We have specifically chosen therapies that are aimed at helping you deal with hair loss and the issues surrounding this. As these types of treatments and therapies are all about supporting your wellbeing, it really is a case of choosing something which appeals to you. For example, some people have a sensitive head and don’t like their scalp being touched, whilst others would love the massaging that takes place with Indian head massage. Some treatments such as massage can be a one off experience, and others such as hypnotherapy may require a few sessions to offer you true support.
When selecting a treatment you must check first with your doctor that it is ok to go ahead. They may also be able to recommend a good practitioner or particular treatment that they feel will benefit you. There may also be some treatments that are available to you free of charge through your hospital or GP. Many practitioners offer a discount to people through their cancer treatment so it is always worth asking.
The nice thing about alternative and complementary therapies is that you can do something positive and interactive in dealing with hair loss.
